TWG Training
Monday, 11 July and Tuesday 12 July, 2022

The Georgia Orienteering Club (GAOC) is making available maps suitable for The World Games training. The following maps are available:

Each set of 2 maps can be purchased for $10 from the GAOC website: gaorienteering.org. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select GAOC Merchandise Page. From the GAOC Merchandise Page, select Training Map Set, select Next, then select which maps you want and follow instructions to check out. After downloading the map PDF file you may print as many maps as you need for yourself and/or your team for World Games training.

All maps have a course drawn on them from previous events. The four Sweetwater Creek State Park courses will have ribbons hung for the control points. You may do whatever training you like on your own or contact GAOC if you have a particular request and we may be able to accommodate you.

Sweetwater Creek State Park is located near Douglasville, GA, ~18 miles (29 km) west of downtown Atlanta and only a few miles south of I-20. Sweetwater Creek State Park to downtown Birmingham is approximately 133 miles (214 km), about a 214 hour drive on I-20.

The University of West Georgia is in Carrollton, GA, ~50 miles (80 km) west of downtown Atlanta and ~12 miles (19 km) south of I-20. UWG to downtown Birmingham is approximately 109 miles (175 km), just under a two-hour drive.
