GAOC Volunteers at Sweetwater Creek State Park

Members of the Georgia Orienteering Club gathered at Sweetwater Creek State Park on Saturday, September 28, 2002, to fence off an abandoned well.

Sweetwater Creek Park provided the construction materials and maintenance manager Richard Price delivered them close to the well site for the volunteers.

The abandoned presented a potential safety hazard for orienteers. The park donated medal fence posts and chain link fence. GAOCers dug the holes, erected the fence posts, then attached the chain link fence. The job was completed in just a few hours.
