Red Top Mountain State Park is located in the northwestern part of Georgia near Cartersville. Named for the iron-rich Red Top Mountain, the park covers 1776 acres on a peninsula jutting north into Lake Allatoona. During the 1864 Atlanta Campaign of the American Civil War, the Battle of Allatoona Pass was fought on a battlefield near the park.
Located 45 minutes north of Atlanta near Cartersville, 1.5 miles east of I-75 exit #285. The nearest big town is Cartersville, GA, just a few miles to the West.

Georgia DNR Parking Passes are required and may be purchased at packet pickup, from the self-serve boxes in the parking lots, or the park office. You will need a daily pass for each day that you will be at the park. Rates are charged based on vehicle capacity, not the number of actual passengers. Cars and vans with 1-12 passenger capacity are $5/day.
School buses and charter buses for school groups will be able to park at no charge. School buses can proceed directly to parking but all other buses and oversize vans (13+) should pick up a parking pass at the Park Office. Office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm.
