F D Roosevelt State Park
Sunday, October 8, 2023

Join GAOC at F D Roosevelt State Park on Sunday, October 8. Start and finish will be near the Liberty Bell Pool.

The bridge between I-185 and Pine Mountain on US27 is being replaced. This is the exit most of us take when going south. The best alternative is to go one more exit and take GA18 into Pine Mountain - it comes out right at the corner with the gas station and KFC.

Andi Berger will be teaching a Navigation 101 Clinic beginning at 9:30am. After a brief talk, Andi will take the group out to complete the Yellow course while demonstrating and practicing orienting the map, catching features, handrails, collecting features, and attack points. The clinic is expected to take about 2 hours to complete. You must pre-register for the clinic by choosing the "Yellow with Navigation 101" option as your course on the registration form. No extra fee is charged for the clinic. If "Yellow with Navigation 101" is not listed as a course option on the registration form, the clinic is full for this event.

  3. Participants will be started promptly at the start time they select when pre-registering. To facilitate social distancing, please come to the start no earlier than 3 minutes before your start time, but be sure to be at the start on time.
  4. Runners will have the option to run one or two courses using the same e-stick. If you want to run two courses, you must pre-register for both courses. On the pre-registration form, you will select your start time for your first course. At the event, when you are ready to start you second course, come back to the start to be assigned a start time.
