Daylight Savings Time begins on March 10th!

Come enjoy the wide open fields of Joe Kurz WMA on Sunday, March 10th. This year we have a new map derived from LiDAR data. The old growth woods are very open, which gives us some new routes to run. Sam has designed courses that avoid the briars and the areas that have been logged, and use lots of open fields were you can run full speed.

A fishing license, hunting license, or Georgia Lands Pass is required while on the WMA. You may purchase a license or Lands Pass online at www.gooutdoorsgeorgia.com or find a store near you. More information is at georgiawildlife.com/licenses-permits-passes. A one day license is available as the "Combo Hunting/Fishing (Short Term)" license for $8.00, and annual licenses are available for $18. License options and prices are listed here.

All participants are also required to sign a Georgia WMA Waiver of Liability, separate from the GAOC Waiver of Liability. A paper form will be available at the event for adults, parents, and guardians to sign. If you are a minor and your parent/guardian will not be at the event, please download a form, print it, have your parent or guardian sign it, and turn it in at the event.

Volunteers are welcomve for the start, search and rescue, and control pickup.

Notes

  1. Water will NOT be provided on any course. A camelbak water carrying device is highly recommended, particularly given the warm temperatures. Participants must bring their own compasses, whistle, and water. Additionally, please be respectful of meet and scoring officials by maintaining appropriate social distancing. DO NOT congregate around the scoring tent after you have downloaded.

Registration will open to everyone at 9:00pm on Monday, Monday, March 4th.) No paper forms or payments will be accepted on-site.
  3. Participants will be started promptly at the start time they select when pre-registering. To facilitate social distancing, please come to the start no earlier than 3 minutes before your start time, but be sure to be at the start on time.
  4. Runners will have the option to run one or two courses using the same e-stick. If you want to run two courses, you must pre-register for both courses. On the pre-registration form, you will select your start time for your first course. At the event, when you are ready to start you second course, come back to the start to be assigned a start time.
