The last meet of the 2025 Spring season will be at McIntosh Reserve May 18th. This will also be the Annual General Membership meeting and picnic.

First, the course info. We always have a "special" fun event of some kind at the last meet, so that everyone can get together for the meeting and picnic.

This year, the "Age Handicap" race. Everyone does the same course, 3.9km long with very little climb. In 5 year age groups, the oldest runners start first, then the next oldest age group 2 minutes later, then the next and so forth. Everyone under the age of 35 will mass start at the same time. Following is allowed! Pass in the last leg! The first successful runner back is the winner. As a side note, it does not really make sense to do the age handicap race as a group, since everyone the same age starts at the same time. If you do sign up as a group, your start time will be based on the youngest member of the group.

In addition, there will be an award for the "Last Leg Sprint" - the fastest time from the last control to the finish line. This is for all you orienteers who stumble about in the woods as long as no one can see you, but then sprint to the finish line. Every course is eligible for this award - just save something for the last leg!

And there will be a "White/Yellow" combined course, and an Orange level course.

The Annual General Membership meeting (aka AGM) is our only meeting of the year. You can listen to reports of what we did last season, elect officers, and discuss what we will do next season. This is your chance to make suggestions, volunteer, and get informed about future plans.

The picnic will start after the Age Handicap race. The club will provide hot dogs, buns, and condiments. Bring picnic type food to share!

The AGM will begin as soon as the first frenzy of hot dog consumption dies down...

Schedule:
9:30 - mandatory meeting for Age Handicap race - starts to begin as soon as all questions are answered, so be ready to run. You must hang out at the start and watch the older runners begin so that you do not miss your start - it is going to go fast, with a start beeper...
10:00 - regular starts for White/Yellow and Orange courses
Noon or sooner - hot dogs and picnic
AGM starts soon after.

Did I mention awards? Vinton has come up with a cunning plan to score everything. Results for the Age Handicap race will be reported two ways - order of finish and individual. The last leg sprint times will also be radioed back.
