Moore's Bridge Park
Sunday, September 6, 2026
Join GAOC for the first event of the fall season on Sunday, September 6th, at Moore's Bridge Park. Courses offered include Score-O, White, and Yellow.
The Score-O will have a mass start at 10:00am. (If you want to start early, you may start as early as 9:00am.) Each control has a point value; remote and difficult controls have a higher point value. Navigate, in any order, to as many controls as you can in 90 minutes. One point will be deducted from your total for each minute over 90. The absolute time limit for the Score-O is 2 hours.
The White and Yellow courses are traditional beginner/novice coures. Navigate to each control in order. The time limit for White and Yellow courses is 3 hours or 1:00pm, whichever is sooner.
Notes
- Moore's Bridge is a Carroll County park and requires a $5/car fee. Be aware that we are sharing the trails with bikes and horses.
- Beginner instruction is available at 9:00am; participants must pre-register for the Beginner Instruction class.
- Water will NOT be provided on any course. A camelbak or similar hydration pack is highly recommended. Participants must bring their own compasses, whistle, and water.
- Pre-paid pre-registration is required. (Registration will open for our volunteer meet directors at 7:00pm on Monday, August 31st, and will open for other volunteer coupon holders at 8:00pm. Registration will open to everyone at 9:00pm.) No paper forms or payments will be accepted on-site.
- Participants will be started promptly at the start time they select when pre-registering. Please come to the start no earlier than 5 minutes before your start time, but be sure to be at the start on time.
- Runners will have the option to run one or two courses using the same e-stick. If you want to run two courses, you must pre-register for both courses. On the pre-registration form, select the "I want to run 2 courses option". After selecting your courses, select your start time for your first course. At the event, when you are ready to start you second course, come back to the start to be assigned a start time. You must start your second course before 11:00am.

If you are interested in helping out at the start, search and rescue, beginner instruction, or control pickup, please select your volunteer position(s) on the registration page or contact the meet director.
Schedule
White and Yellow runners start between 9:00am and 11:00am. Time limit is 3 hours or 1:00pm.
The Score-O mass start is at 10:00am, with early starts beginning at 9:00am. One point will be deducted for each minute over 90, with a max time of two hours.
Directions
From the traffic circle in Whitesburg (the intersection of GA5 and GA16), go north on GA 5 (the opposite direction from McIntosh Reserve) for about a mile and turn right on Black Dirt Road. The park will be down about a mile on the right. There is a sign at the entrance.
The park address is 615 Black Dirt Rd, Whitesburg, GA, accessible via GA Hwy 5. This is a Carroll County Park like McIntosh Reserve, and it is not very well known, so your GPS may not know about this park or address.
