Please join us for our event at Palisades East, Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA) this upcoming Sunday, February 12.
We will be convening at the top parking lot at the end of Indian Trail road. There is a narrow, gravel road entrance into Palisades East, CRNRA and we are at the end of that road.
Palisades East CRNRA is a pretty park that is adjacent to the Chattahoochee river. There are some nice changes in elevation which make for good views in the open forest and fun orienteering.
The map has been significantly updated from last year; trails added / deleted / modified, rootstocks fixed, etc... - many thanks to Kevin Haywood and Rick Shane for their help with this project. Note: there is a burn area in the middle of the map on the western side adjacent to the river/cliffs. This area has been marked out of bounds on the map.
Parking is tight, so try to carpool or arrive early to get a parking spot. We have been advised that people should not park along the gravel road leading up to the parking area. Parking fee is $3.00 or an applicable National Park Pass displayed. Park day passes are available in the top parking lot.
Buses MUST not enter the gravel road to park as parking is too tight to allow bus turnaround. Buses MUST drop kids off on the paved road.
We will have Beginner up to Advanced Courses. Please register online to save time.

GAOC offers beginner instruction at 10am at all local meets. Runners may start their course any time between 11am and 1pm with a 3-hour time limit for all courses. All runners must be off the courses by 3pm. That said, we will try to be ready to allow people to start by 10:15am if at all possible.
From I-285 on the North side of Atlanta, take exit 22 and go South on Northside Dr. Go 1.75 miles to Indian Trail, then right to park. Limited parking – Please Carpool.

Typical fees are shown below. Participants may go out on the course as individuals or with a group. E-chip rental is required if you do not have your own stick.
