"What is an Extreme-O?" you might ask. If you have ever done an Extreme-O at the Georgia Navigator Cup or an adventure race, this event will be similar. You are definitely going to see a side of the park you've probably never seen. The courses are designed for intermediate to advanced level orienteers (Orange-Red) and focus on different types of navigational, mental and physical challenges. Some examples are:

There will be two Extreme-O courses to choose from: Short and Long. These courses are generally longer than your typical course however there isn't a ton of climb. The average orienteer should expect to take 2-3 hours on the course. Green and Red course orienteers are the best fit for the Long course. Orange, Silver and Brown orienteers should consider the Short course.

It is highly encouraged that runners go out in teams of 2-3 because it's a lot of fun to work as a team. Orange level orienteers should definitely go out with a partner. Individuals and teams are encouraged to bring a mobile phone in case of emergency.

Make sure to dress appropriately as you will definitely be getting your feet wet and it looks like there may be rain in the forecast.

If you are bringing a group larger than 5 orienteers, please contact meet director Chris Randall as soon as possible. Parking might be tight so please car pool if at all possible.

We'll be running the meet from picnic shelter #5, but have also reserved picnic shelter #6 for extra parking and space. (view park map)

Don't forget to get your parking pass for $5.
